Rhododendrons and Canyons

This year seems to be the most prolific in many.  We might have to make to the mid-70’s to find a year with so much growth and where everything seems to bloom.  The new material on evergreens seems longer and greener than ever before.

A perfect year to celebrate our giant rhododendron, queen of the shrubs…

I have written about her and this wee plot of land often.  Some times it seems that is all I write of, so it seems like the time for a few pictures of the queen and her queendom.

She started blooming early this early - around April 20, but now all 10 plus feet of her is in full blossom.

Behind her is our canyon, subject of many poems.  The rest of picutres are our yard and the canyon.
